A 3D method for IMRT verification has been recently developed. This will provide a faster and more accurate method for verification. Within this 3D EPID method a kernel correction is applied to convert the EPI image to the dose at the radial depth of the virtual phantom. For depths other than the radial depth the kernel correction does not provide a good match to conventional dosimeters. The aim of this project is to implement and further develop this method by modifying the kernel correction. Initial measurements were made to benchmark the accuracy of the method against conventional dosimeters. The kernel correction was then modified to match conventional dosimeters at other depths and compared to measurements previously taken with film.
