With very little fanfare and even less discussion in retail circles, a major new development out of Detroit will make its debut at CES in Las Vegas this winter: The Intelligent (or ITS) Data Bus, or IDB system. IDB is a standardized automotive wiring system that the Big Three plan to install in all cars in the coming years. The system promises to provide an open platform for all aftermarket-type electronics, making installation essentially 'plug and play.'
