With interest rates fluctuating so much, should we brace ourselves for another rough economic stretch? Unfortunately, no one knows. Like the price of any commodity, interest rates are controlled by supply and demand. They are affected by large sums of money coming into and leaving the country and by the number of consumers who want to borrow money at any given time.
