Expo 2003 rides industry upcurve

CE'DIA Expo 2003, which ran this year in Indianapolis from Sept. 3-7, attracted a record number of attendees ― around 22,000, up significantly from the 19,500 who clocked in for the 2002 Minneapolis fest ― the largest number in the group's 14 years of Expos. The attendance figure wasn't the only thing up; morale, many exhibitors and installers present informally polled by AudioVideo said, was high, ― indicative not merely of the economy turning a corner, but even more, of a widely held perception of better business down the pike (see "AVI View" for a summary of some high points of CEDIA's annual Membership Survey which bear this out).
