36th JAIF Annual Conference Held in Tsuruga and Fukui

The Japan Atomic Industry Forum (JAIF) held its 36th Annual Conference from April 15 to 17 in the cities of Tsuruga (the first day) and Fukui (the last two days), under the theme, "Seeking Better Public Understanding ― For Further Nuclear Development." More than 1,300 nuclear-related people from Japan and abroad got together for the three days to exchange opinions through presentations and panel discussions, with the public and experts from various other fields taking part as well. There were also a number of events designed to enhance communication between the nuclear and local-siting communities. The first day saw some 1,300 people from 17 countries and regions and six international organizations gather in the Tsuruga Citizens' Cultural Center.
