FAST PERIODIC-PULSE REACTOR FOR HIGH-POWER NUCLEAR-PUMPED LASERS

摘要

A concept for the IRM fast periodic-pulse reactor, which can be used as an ignition module for high-power nuclear-pumped lasers, is presented. The periodic-pulse operating regime of IRM is examined. The results of calculations of the parameters of the IRM which is under development are compared with the main characteristics of IBR-2. It is shown that IRM holds promise for use in high-power nuclear-pumped lasers.
