Prediction and Evaluation of the Radioecological Consequences of a Hypothetical Accident on the Sunken Nuclear Submarine B-159 in the Barents Sea

Cross-border propagation of Cs-137 in the Barents Sea as result of a hypothetical accident associated with a self-maintained chain reaction in the reactors on the sunken nuclear submarine B-159 is predicted. The possible radioecological consequences of the radioactive contamination of the marine environments are evaluated. The results obtained are compared with approaches used abroad.
