The last two years have been challenging times for all textile dyestuff, pigment and chemical manufacturers. The global financial crisis had a major effect upon the textile and apparel industries as consumer demand fell away in the major markets of North America and Europe. The downturn in economic activity affected all chemical manufacturers and with overcapacity and weaker demand some manufacturing plants were temporarily closed while others went on to short time working conditions.
