Advanced space technologies for the benefit of mankind was the name of international regional theoretical and practical conference under the aegis of IAA.Conference was held on April 18-20,2007 in Dniepropetrovsk (Ukraine). It is fair to say that Dniepropetrovsk is the space capital of Ukraine.It was in this city that Special Design Office #586,since 1966 known as Yuzhnoye SDO,was founded in 1954 to develop a strategic midrange missile burning high-boiling-point propellants.New Design office started vigorously making its own way in the field of rocket technology development.Four gen-erations of strategic missiles were developed altogether.Among them were the missile that USSR used as a basis for its new arm of the service:Strategic Missile Forces,the world's first orbital rocket,and the intercontinental missile with such a perfect performance that the mere fact of its development gave rise to peace negotiations between the USA and the USSR,leading to the disarmament and the cease of the Cold war.
