摘要

A number of high-level conclusions were developed during the conference discussions, which represent significant refinements in thinking about life detection:(1) Employing a hypothesis-driven approach in the development of life-detection investigation strategies and measurements for science (null hypothesis) and planetary protection (positive hypothesis) provides a sound framework to the problem. This would feed into the development of a science and planetary protection test protocol (see workshop report).
