Suppliers of MP3 sunglasses in China are taking a two-pronged approach, strengthening product development and boosting exports, to buoy up sales and compete with mainstream players. Still a niche line, growth in this segment is hindered by limited multimedia entertainment capability and inhibitive component costs. Makers do not expect to close the gap with cousin MP3 players in the near term but are nonetheless confident of steady growth in overseas business.
