Australian Gas talks with Tokyo Electric on ventures

Australian Gas Light Co. the nation's biggest energy retailer, said it is talking with Tokyo Electric Power Co. about more power generation ventures after their joint acquisition in May of the Loy Yang A plant. Australian Gas and Tokyo Electric each own 32.5 percent of Great Energy Alliance Corp, which bought Loy Yang A, Australia's biggest privately owned generator, for A$3.5 billion (US$2.4 billion). The two companies may cooperate in more investments, including renewable energy projects, Australian Gas Managing Director Greg Martin said in an interview in Sydney.
