Latest figures show that while he electricity market demand is at a maximum of 5.200MW. there is an installed capacity of 8.700MW, and the margin is expected to increase even further over 100 percent over the next year with the installation of CCGT capability and capacity conversions in Singapore. While this means that it's unlikely for Singaporean consumers to have to suffer power shortages (e.g. June 29 2004's gas supply disruption), what's going to happen to all the excess power?
