Eco-friendly Surface Modifications of Wool Fiber for its Improved Functionality: An Overview

摘要

Wool is a natural fibers mainly used for suiting, shawl, carpet and blankets, however it has distinct demerits like shrinkage due to presence of cuticle scales on the surface of the fiber. Research works since 1950 have been carried to resolve those problems by different methods. This review highlights the eco-friendly surface modifications of wool fiber to rectify the problem by improving its functionality.
