Payment system, cybersecurity key ABA issues

The payments marketplace is moving at incredible speed," notes Ken Clayton, executive vice-president of legislative affairs and chief counsel at ABA. "There are implications from that movement for consumers and everybody else that depends on the payment system." One of the implications is greater exposure to fraud. Clayton and Bill Boger, ABA senior vice-president and chief legislative counsel, say the debate over control of the payment system hasn't been fully engaged yet, but that ABA will initiate conversations with policymakers in 2013.
