Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) are defined as powered aerial vehicles guided without an onboard crew and sustained in flight by aerodynamic lift over most of their flight path. These UAVs maybe recoverable or expendable, and can also either be piloted or flown autonomously.rnAmong the first modern recorded employment of UAVs was by the US military forces during the Vietnam conflict, most exclusively for reconnaissance purposes. After a lull for about a decade, UAVs were again used prominently by the Israeli forces in the early 1980s.
