ADJ: What is the current strategic outlook as far as the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) is concerned ?rnCDF: At the broadest level, the post 9/11 incident has added a new dimension of asymmetrical threats into the strategic security equations of most nations. The end of the Cold War has resulted in uncertainties in terms of security both globally and regionally. Old enduring issues at intra and inter-states levels, essentially require more professionalism in conflict and crisis management.rnMalaysia's national and regional security environment continues to be shaped and defined in terms of both traditional and non-traditional security concerns. Emerging non-traditional security threats, including international terrorism, mean that the armed forces is no longer confined to managing conflict between states alone.
