UAVs for Border Surveillance

A great deal of interest has lately been shown by law enforcers and authorities in using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to survey international land borders. Along with other surveillance gadgets and equipment, these so-called "force multipliers" allow the governments to deploy fewer agents in a specific area while maintaining the ability to detect and counter intrusions and are increasingly becoming a part of the border patrol's day-to-day operations. The use of UAVs will also augment the personnel's ability to patrol the border. The UAVs have played key roles in recent conflicts. Historically, UAVs have been used in various military settings. The UAVs have provided reconnaissance, surveillance, target acquisition, search and rescue, and battle damage assessments.
