The armed forces have no thought of staging a military coup, as they want the country to move forward under a democratic system, Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwon said. "The armed forces support a democratic election. As a state mechanism, the military will support the new government, regardless of which political party forms it," Gen Prawit said. He called on the media to stop focusing on his close relationship with the ruling Democrat Party.
