ADJ: What is the status of BAE Systems' operations in the Asia Pacific and Southeast Asia? AG: We've been established in the region for many years and we have an installed base of equipment along with opportunities for future business in just about every Asean market. Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Brunei are all currently seeking a range of defence, aerospace and security solutions and so these are the markets where we currently remain most active. ADJ: What is your business strategy for Malaysia? AG: Over the past eighteen months, we have centred our core Southeast Asia operations in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia under our regional managing director, John Brosnan and his team. Kuala Lumpur (KL) is geographically suited to give us the immediate regional reach we require. More importantly the rapid and impressive development of business infrastructure, make Malaysia ideally suited to a global business looking to establish a regional hub.
