GE Marine to Power JMSDF's New Aegis Destroyer

GE Marine Solutions has been contracted to deliver two LM2500 aeroderivative marine gas turbines for the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force's (JMSDF) new 8,200t Aegis destroyer. The LM2500 propulsion modules will be delivered by Tokyo-based IHI, GE Marine Systems' supplier, to Japan Marine United shipyard in 2018.
