Globe, DITO partner Aboitiz InfraCapital to accelerate small cells deployment

Filipino companies Globe Telecom and DITO Telecommunity are teaming up with Aboitiz InfraCapital's infrastructure arm to accelerate deployment of small cells, thereby boosting network capacity and coverage. With Aboitiz InfraCapital's subsidiary anticipating an increase in business in the coming years as domestic telcos gear up their 5G rollouts, it has reportedly confirmed that Globe and DITO have inked separate lease agreements on its pole network in Cebu and Davao. Aboitiz is understood to be offering its sites nationwide to support telcos and ISPs with access to its wireless network capacity and coverage. The Manila Bulletin notes that, as with the country's common towers business model, telcos and ISPs can co-locate small cell attachments in Aboitiz InfraCapital's pole network.
