Singtel embarks on 5G SA trial for enterprise users

In a press release, Singapore's leading mobile network operator (MNO) by subscribers, Singtel, says it has deployed the city-state's first 5G standalone (SA) trial network at its 5G Garage testing facility. The network offers enterprise customers early access to 5G to develop and test out 5G trial solutions and utilizes 3500MHz spectrum and Swedish vendor Ericsson's advanced Massive MIMO technology to deliver ultra-fast speeds and low-latency or response times, it said. The trial follows close on the heels of last month's announcement from the MNO that it had activated its 5G non-standalone (NSA) network in Singapore, offering both the consumer and enterprise segments the opportunity to sign up to its three-month trial to try out the new service. The NSA network rides on top of the cellco's existing 4G infrastructure.
