KDDI selects Infovista to design nationwide 5G network via Planet 7.2 deployment

US-based Infovista has been selected by Japanese operator KDDI (au) to provide advanced RF planning and optimization software to design its nationwide 5G network. In a press release, the vendor announced the successful deployment of Planet 7.2 -the latest iteration of its advanced software for wireless networks - which reportedly provides KDDI with the technology 'to plan the company's 5G network, including 3D-enabled design capabilities, support for multi-scenario decisions and automated LTE/5G planning', and enabling the cellco 'to meet the challenge of implementing 5G coverage in advance of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo'.
