Over the last four years, the number of Internet customers has been doubling every 4-6 months while content complexity has expanded from text-only e-mails to multimedia, and connectivity has developed from unicasting to broadcasting and multicasting. As communications applications grow in size, demand for capacity from Asian satellite operators is increasing steadily.
