DEVELOPMENT OF SATELLITE AND TERRESTRIAL DIGITAL BROADCASTING SYSTEMS IN JAPAN

摘要

Almost all broadcasting systems and associated equipment will be digitalized in the near future. In Japan, research and development into digital broadcasting has been going on for a number of years aiming at realization of improved picture quality, new services, system flexibility, etc. Japanese digital broadcasting systems under development have several merits; for example, a high transmission capacity and a hierarchical transmission scheme for satellite delivery and mobile reception for terrestrial digital broadcasting systems.
