Compact N_2 Reflow Device Saves Space, Enhances Efficiency

The European Union''s (EU) Restriction on the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive and the Waste Electric and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) take effect in July 2006. The RoHS prohibits the use of lead and other chemicals deemed harmful to humans and the environment. This has prompted electronics manufacturers in Japan to remove lead from devices, parts and soldering materials, and replace it with non-harmful substances. Other countries, likewise, are striving to beat the deadline for comply-„ ing with the EU directive. Tamura Corp., a Japanese manufacturer of soldering materials and soldering devices, has been developing technologies and products that comply with lead-free production requirements of its customers.
