Tough Competition Marks Smt Industry As Seen In China Event

Nepcon South China remains as among China's best established exhibition brands, gathering the leading players in the surface-mount technology (SMT) and related industries. Evidences of a stronger market competition were visible at this year's show. This four-day event held in Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center served as an industry platform for engineers to exchange views and meet with market leaders, gather comprehensive market information, and get up-to-date with the latest trends in lead-free technologies. The show ran from Aug. 26 to 29. Just like in Nepcon Shanghai, which happened in April, a wide array of mounters, soldering equipment and board in- spection equipment occupied the largest space on the exhibition floor. This year, Nepcon South China housed 460 exhibitors from 22 countries, and drew more than 20,000 visitors. The Automotive Electronics China 2008, the Assembly Expo China 2008, and the EMT South China 2008, which presents trends in component manufacturing, electronic sub-contracting, test and measurement, and automotive elec- tronics, were held in conjunction with Nepcon South China.
