Less Power Gets ROHM's Touch Panel Controller LSI Going

ROHM Co., Ltd. has started mass pro-duction of the newly developed BU21018MWV touch panel controller LSI, featuring low power consumption, for capacitive multi-touch panels. The new product has obtained certification for 10.1-inch Windows Touch for touch panels compatible with Windows 7, and will be supplied to manufacturers of touch sensor modules. A dedicated noise filter built in the hardware and software control through a microcontroller significantly improved the noise resistance performance and eliminated the need for the ground shield to block out LC noise for the sensor panel. This can reduce costs of the sensor panel by more than 20 per-rncent.
