ROHM Co., Ltd. has developed and started mass production of controller LSIs for touch screens. These new controller LSIs are the industry's first to enable two-point touch operation that was previously difficult with resistive touch screens. ROHM's original CMOS process circuit technology with built-in 8-bit CPU and 10-bit successive approximation type analog-to-digital (A/D) converter has achieved multi-touch operation for 4-wire resistive touch screens, which had been inexpensive and had resistance to noise but theoretically enabled only single-point touch operation.
