Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are becoming increasingly noteworthy as automotive electronic controls in recent years. ADAS are systems that enhance safety. Basically, they use camera, millimeter waves and infrared lasers to sense around the vehicle and recognize pedestrians, other vehicles and side strip, among others, and facilitate collision avoidance through proximity alarms and automatic brake & steering wheel operation. As fast, high-precision data processing is required for these applications, timing devices with high frequency precision are used. As ADAS are a safety function, high reliability is also required.
