In response to production automation, surface mounter manufacturers are actively making proposals on automating mounting process as well as pre- and post-mounting processes. Against the background of strong demand, they are stepping up proposals for smart factory concepts that include functional improvement of core software for smart factory development, and automation of pre- and post-mounting processes, such as component storage and odd-shaped components mounting. They promoted their smart factory developments at JISSO PROTEC as well.
