Duct Design Fundamentals

Designing duct systems must start with an understanding of how pressure losses are calculated and combined. Then a design method should be selected based on what is available to the designer. If a computer and the T-method duct design program are available, and the designer has the information that the T-method needs to optimize systems (such as cost of energy, unit cost of ductwork, etc.), then the T-method will probably give the best solution.
