Aviation's Maintenance Tech Warrant-The Quiet Professional

When one hears the term "Aviation Warrant Officer," the tendency to envision only aviators is understandable. However, there is no such thing as a solo flight in the Army. For the United States Army to achieve success in combat, we require all three of our Aviation Tech Warrant Officers: (150U) Tactical Unmanned Aerial Systems Operations Technician, (150A) Air Traffic and Airspace Management Technician, and our (151A) Aviation Maintenance Technician Warrant Officers. The Maintenance Technician (151A) utilizes training, skill, and experience in a highly specialized position to execute three primary tasks: to manage, to maintain, and to repair. The scope of this article seeks to highlight this critical Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) and the capabilities they bring to the fight.
