REMEMBRANCE OF PROFESSOR WIESLAW STACHURSKI

Wieslaw Stachurski was born on June 26, 1926 in Wlostowa (presently in Swie-tokrzyski region). He completed technical studies at the Civil Engineering Faculty of the Warsaw University of Technology in 1951, by defending the MA dissertation on "Frequency of the space frame vibrations" written under the supervision of prof. Witold Wierzbicki, an outstanding scientist in structural mechanics. At the same time he began to work as an academic teacher at his parent faculty of the Warsaw University of Technology, then continued there obtaining successive scientific degrees, from an assistant to a full professor, until he retired in 1996. Further on he continued his full-time work exclusively at the Construction and Environmental Engineering Faculty of the Bialystok Technical University where he was incessantly employed up until 2007.
