Finite group actions on compact negatively curved manifolds

We show that some diameters of orbits of a non-trivial finite group G acting effectively on a compact connected negatively curved manifold M have a universal bound depending only on the dimension n of the underlying manifold. It can also be viewed as a rigidity result.
