Two recent occurrences in the Bun-desdenkmalamt (BDA), the Austrian Federal Conservation Authority, have an impact on the architecture of the post-war era. First the appointment of Barbara Neubauer as president in 2008, second the new situation for listed buildings in public ownership.rnIn 2004, when still regional conservator for Vienna, Barbara Neubauer spoke of a minimum interval of "at least 50 years" necessary to allow an "objective assessment to be made". Fortunately in 2008 Neubauer voiced her appreciation of the architecture from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s and even the 1980s.
