The citizens of St. Polten have ambiguously dubbed their new courthouse buildingthe"Golden Cage". But the building's striking facade does more than deliver visual sensations. Its innumerable perforations create new spatial experiences for the offices behind it. And in a dialogue with the 19th century the volume of the new building also creates a new urban order in and around the justice complex in the Lower Austrian capital.%„Goldener Käfig" nennen die St. Pöltener das neue Gerichtsgebäude doppeldeutig. Die markante Fassade liefert aber nicht nur optische Sensationen. Ihre zahllosen Perforationen schaffen neue Raumerfahrungen für die Büros dahinter. Und der Baukörper schafft im Dialog mit dem 19. Jahrhundert auch eine neue urbanistische Ordnung im und um den Justizkomplex der niederösterreichischen Landeshauptstadt.
