Architects Koeb&Pollak have recently extended the head-quarters of Collini in Hohenems (Vorarlberg) for the third time. The new building on Rosenplatz forms the south-eastern boundary of the site, it has a sophisticated facade of perforated corrugated metal, clear logistics, many views through and out of the building and bright, generously sized rooms for the staff. High Standards Perfect surfaces are the passion of the Collini Group. Here dedicated work is carried out on the constant improvement of surface technologies. Electroplating, an-odising, hot-dip galvanising, powder coating, organic coating are among the core competences of this business, which today enhances the surfaces of products from throughout the world at 14 locations. Around 1,400 staff members from 27 different countries generate a solid growth in turnover. Furniture, door and window hardware, aluminium profiles, facade elements, connector housings, vehicle body parts or electric shavers pass through the hands of staff in the Hohenems headquarters. Damian Collini, a travelling scissors grinder from Trent, set up the firm there in 1898. In 1908 he rented a workshop. In 1909 he had his first electric grinding works. The family business continued to develop further, in 1947 the first factory on Schweizerstrasse was erected to plans by Hermann Keckeis.
