Am Lokdepot, Berlin

Europe's major cities are experiencing population growth and rely on densification. But Berlin has trouble dealing with the issue of density, even though more than 40,000 new inhabitants have come to the city on the Spree on average in the last few years. Instead of urban diversity, Berlin is threatened by monofunctional housing from just a few players, chiefly building societies. The 'Am Lokdepot' development demonstrates an alternative.
