The Rhaeto-Romanic word Masella means the bodily "cheek" and describes the strikingly rounded form of the Masella ridge. It is precisely here that the route of the same name, which shaped the timber industry in this region, runs. At the junction of four routes there once stood a hut that provided the workers with a place to rest and warm themselves. It did not offer sleeping accommodation but had an open fire with a bench-seat running around it. The route and the hut had been allowed decay since the 1960s. Marte.Marte have now continued the collective history of the place with their reinterpretation of this historical structure.
