When Manuel de Rivero, Fernando Puente Arnao and Cesar Becerra graduated as architects in 1995 from the Universidad Ricardo Palma in Lima, Peru was just recovering from two decades of violence and severe economic crisis. Construction was almost paralyzed with very few opportunities for building beyond small renovations or interior design in retail projects. Towards 2000, job scarcity got worse, triggering two possible paths: leave to study/work abroad or self-generate your own work.
