The completion of 7 World Trade Center in 2006 signaled the rebirth of Lower Manhattan following the September 2001 attacks, and set a standard for the World Trade Center master plan. The 52-story,1.7-million-square-foot office tower is wrapped in low-iron glass, which seems at times to dematerialize into the sky. A gradient ceramic frit pattern applied to the upper zone of each floor-to-ceiling panel reduces heat gain without affecting views or daylight penetration.
