La Candida is a gated community built alongside the road linking Buenos Aires with the Atlantic coast. The site is organized on an axis in relation to an artificial lake. Faced with these conditions, the project proposes two simultaneous actions: the extension of the boundary of the lake, and the construction of a free standing pavilion within it. These interventions attempt to invert the inertia of each element and to incorporate them in an experience associated to this new setting. Aside from its program of uses -a gym, a bar and a day spa - the building aspires to dissolve the boundaries of its individual areas and so to invite users to strengthen their ties to a place that might otherwise have seemed distant.
