Toni Girones: Tumulus Transmission Space

In January 2007, construction work on one of the pipes of the water distribution mains in the Segarra-Garrigues system led to the unexpected appearance of archaeological ruins from an prehistoric construction, which dated from 4,800 years ago, in the village of Sero (Artesa de Segre, Lleida). The most exceptional feature of this discovery was the megalithic nature of the sandstone slabs and especially the many geometrical decoration carved on them. These stones with bas-relief decorations were, in fact, fragments of ancient statues reused from a former sculptural monument.
