The light wall in the elevator hall and the window shoji screens in the drawing rooms were installed during the building renovation to reinforce the earthquake-resistant structure. Since quakeproof structural beams were to be installed into each drawing room window, the beam shadows, normally considered to be visual noise, were incorporated into the artwork to give the windows a modern and dynamic impression.
