October saw the departure of Nick Collis-George as Chapter Manager and the commencement of Roslyn Irons in his place. Nick has been an innovative and supportive Chapter Manager, one of the best the NSW Chapter has seen in the past 20 years. He has done a great job hauling the Chapter into the web-based age, coping with the introduction of compulsory CPD and expanding services to NSW members on a very tight budget. The NSW Chapter welcomes Roslyn and looks forward to her stewardship. The first Sydney Architecture Festival (SAF) was held on World Architecture Day. A joint effort of the NSW RAIA, AAA, NSWARB and City of Sydney, the SAF was organised at short notice and was remarkably successful. More than 4,500 people visited Customs House, tours were fully booked and a further 250 people visited Mirvac's offices. The success was even more remarkable as it was a hot public holiday Monday and good for the beach! Steve Kennedy and his SAF team are to be congratulated and we look forward to future festivals.
