Architecture awards

While e.m. farrelly's July article in The Sydney Morning Herald about the NSW Architecture Awards irritates because of her glib comment, it does touch on deeper problems with the structure of the Institute's awards in general. Without detracting from the undoubted merit of this year's award winners, or the hard work of the jury, the awards emphasis is, yet again, overly concentrated on exclusive private housing, at the expense of the broader work of the profession.
