Gonzo architecture

The second staging of this collaborative design/build event between architects and architectural students was held in August. One of two events held concurrently across Australia, this year's Sydney event, organised by SONA and DARCH, was staged in a University of Technology, Sydney warehouse in Chippendale and involved 30 students, 30 architects, five builders and over 300 guests. The brief, like the idea, was simple: teams with a ratio of 1:1 architects/students build a bar in 12 hours for a one-night-only event.
