ARCHITECTURE'S UNDISCIPLINED URBAN DESIRE

摘要

When the editors of Architectural Theory Review wrote to suggest a special issue with articles sparked by my first book, Architecture: The Story of Practice, I was deeply honoured and, of course, a bit terrified. The opportunity to reflect upon one's early scholarship is humbling, not only because it rehearses inevitable flaws, but also because, for me, I find myself still working on the same basic project 20 years later One imagines one's work evolving more radically! However, if the work inspires further questions as intelligent as those raised by the editors, then it is clear that future scholars are carrying related projects forward into new terrain. It was rewarding to see just that in the essays collected for this issue.
